R.E.M. IN ATLANTA FOR ELTON JOHN PHOTOGRAPHY BENEFIT

Peter, Mike, and Michael took a brief hiatus from recording in Miami to attend an exhibition of Sir Elton John's photography at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta on December 1st.

The exhibition, titled "Chorus of Light: Photography from the Sir Elton John Collection," featured 390 photographs from Elton's personal collection including rare vintage works from the 1920's to cutting edge contemporary photos.

The event, which was held in conjunction with National Aids Day, featured an auction which raised several thousand dollars for the Elton John Aids Foundation. With offices in Los Angeles and London, the EJAF is an international non-profit organization funding prevention education programs and direct patient care services worldwide. The charity was established in 1992 by John, who serves as its Chairman. To date, the EJAF has distributed $14 million in North America and $7 million internationally.
