Distance

As I sit here
And watch the full moon
I think of you
Might you be thinking of me?

My dreams of you are happy and frequent
We recite poetry and walk along beaches
Under the mystic light of the moon
Are these dreams foolish?

I am unsure what is happening
Inside my heart
But I know it is growing
Do you feel it as well?

My being longs for you
It seems I am drawn to the idea
That you love me
But do you? really? still?

You have become my laughter, my love, my soul
I know no happier time
Than when I'm in your presence
Why, now, am I sad?

You are so far away
Not just by physical distance
But I cannot touch you
Do you know what this means?

I fear and wonder while we're apart
As I realize my feelings for you are stronger
Yours for me are slipping away
Can you tell me I'm wrong?

I wonder and wander
Through my heart, my thoughts, my feelings
Why I have so many questions
Can you answer them?
