Nick is the narrator of the story. He's Dasiy's second cousin and lives next door to Gatsby in West Egg.
Nick is originally from the Midwest and is part of a prominent, well-to-do family. However, he moves to New York [specifically, West Egg] to get rich as a stock broker. However, the
plan doesn't work out and at the end he moves back to the Midwest after Gatsby's death.
Nick, being the narrator of the story, believes himself to be above the rest of the characters, except for Gatsby, whom he envies. Nick is also quick to judge people and has high moral values.
