PLEASE READ THIS PAGE THOROUGHLY BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR SITE |
Basic rules and guidelines |
I have been receiving a HUGE amount of submissions that don't listen to the criterea. Please note that your site will not even be considered if any of these guidelines are broken - It's a waste of my time to have to email you instructions that were already posted here. The biggest problems I've had are: |
Queue submitting without posting the Navbar: these sites will not be considered for the webring. The Navbar is the first thing I look for when reviewing a site. The Navbar customized for your site will appear in the email you receive after submitting! There is no reason for not being able to find it. If, for some reason, you are having a problem with finding or posting the code, email me with the subject "Navbar" and I will help you. *Note* I admit that lately, I have become very forgiving for what I find on sites. 90% of the sites that are submitted have absolutely no link to my webring whatsoever. These people often email me asking to be added to the ring. DO NOT WASTE MY TIME AND YOURS! Post at LEAST a link to the webring if not the navbar, which would be preferable, and I will add you. Otherwise, you will be rejected and will have to re-apply. |
Broken URL, email, or webring links submitted are unacceptable - How am I supposed to review a site if I can't access it? I will NOT email you if you submit a broken URL, I will only remove your site from the queue, so PLEASE double check the link you submit. Also please ensure that the link to the HTML code is working properly, or else I will not be able to find it, and your site will not be considered. And obviously if the email address you submit is not valid, there's just no way you can be part of the ring. Please be sure to double check all the info you submit. |
Content so far has not been a big problem for me. Please don't hesitate to join because you're unsure of the content. I have only denied ONE site membership because of inappropriate content, and it was an extreme case. I'm pretty open minded about artwork, but if you think you have questionable content, please send me an inquiry and I'll tell you if it's a waste of your time applying or not. |
Criterea for submissions |
What to submit:
* Poetry * Short stories * Artwork * Novellas or novels * Plays/screenplays * Developing ideas * any other form of art I've omitted. |
What not to submit:
* Anything pornographic - Forms of art can be very sensual without being downright pornographic. If you aren't sure about something, submit it anyway and I'll get back to you. Remember, everything is art but there IS a fine line between nudity and pornography. * Anything extremely violent or vulgar - Violence or vulgarity is just fine in a story or a picture, to a certain degree. Make sure the sample you send me isn't full of profanity or gore. * Anything racist or politically incorrect - EG, Stories or poetry can be about racism, but they can't be RACIST themselves. Absolutely no propaganda for any kind of bigotism and intolerance is ever acceptable! * Any "buy my art" sites. I'm sorry, this is NOT a sales webring. |
Other notes: |
The default icon was provided to me by Heather S. Unfortunately, with the new webring system, it's impossible for members to personalise the logo. Of course, if you'd like to add an image along with the Navbar, please do so. You can take any of the logos from thelogos page, or you can create your own. |
Here is the Navbar as it should appear on your site. Remember, it's COMPULSORY to have this on your site on either the INDEX PAGE, GALLERY PAGE, or in a special WEBRINGS PAGE. It must be easy to find and clearly visible. |
Submission: |
I'm sorry, submission to the AAWR is currently closed except for sponsored sites. This means, in order to join, you must be "sponsored" (or in other words, recommended) by a current AAWR member. All you need to do is visit any AAWR member site (use the navbar to find them) and send them an email, requesting them to visit your site and recommend it to me. Why go through another member? Simple- No more wasting of my time. Many people submit sites to me without any relevant content whatsoever. I'm going to assume that nobody who is putting minimal effort into joining a ring will bother to go through this sponsorship process. I understand that this may be "inconvienient" for current members, but I'd remind them that I have to do this every day, and it is, in my opinion, a good way to keep the ring "cozy" and also to make sure the members will interact with one another. A webring is a community and it will not work without interaction! Once a sponsorship request is received by a current member, I ask that this member simply forward the request to me. (Please ensure that the subject contains "Sponsorship to AAWR"). Members, don't worry- You won't be held accountable if I decide to refuse a site you sponsor. But please do use your discretion, and deny if you truly feel the site is not appropriate! I trust the judgement of my members! Thank you all very much for your cooperation in this matter! I hope it works out well for everyone and the helps to keep the ring running smoothly! |
submission closed! |
Email the Ringmistress |
*NOTE* I get WAY too much pointless email. I will delete any email with subjects like "please add my site" or "can you check my site out". The rules and guidelines are all posted here. I WILL ONLY ANSWER EMAIL WITH THE SUBJECTS "NABVAR" OR "QUESTION ABOUT THE AAWR". |
