Belt Pkwy at Cross Bay Blvd.

overpass from west
Top view faces the Cross Bay overpass from the west side, between the boulevard and the cloverleaf ramp leading to it from the westbound Belt. The skies above are sort of a Belt Pkwy for planes, one of which careens towards Kennedy Airport.
east
View above faces east from the Cross Bay overpass. Just beyond the multi-trussed overhead signholder is the nascent eastbound Nassau Expwy/South Conduit Avenue.
overpass from east
The third view faces westbound towards Cross Bay's deep blue girdered overpass.
west
The last shot looks westbound from the Cross Bay overpass. The first shot on the top was taken from the grass to the right. It is this part of the Belt that was splashed across TV screens for two years in the aftermath of the infamous Howard Beach incident from 1986, in which Michael Griffith, one of three blacks set upon by a mob of white youths, was run over as he attempted to escape his pursuers by running across the Belt from left to right. Shot 10/99.
