Hutchinson River Pkwy Begins at Bruckner Interchange
The Interstate 678 Expressway leading north from the Whitestone Bridge has finally surrendered, unwilling to risk trying to force its way past the much more powerful and evil Interstate 95, the maniacal killer arterial schlerosis of NYC's highway system. The Hutchinson River Pkwy gamely picks up the ball and the cars, but not the trucks, just before passing bravely beneath the incredible and inedible Bruckner Interchange, which basically interchanges drivers between the Cross Bronx and Bruckner Expressways, leaving most of them on the wrong one and hopelessly confused as to where the hell they are.

The Hutch has been born through the fire of the worst that the Bruckner Interchange had to throw over it. Only the westbound lanes headed for the Westbound I-95 Cross Bronx and the original pre-expressway Bruckner Blvd overpass are left to tunnel under before the Hutch can declare itself independent and free! It never quite shakes the Bruckner or I-95 however, crossing that interstate two more times. Shot 10/99.
