Approaching Exit 13 for the westbound Cross County Pkwy. Streetlights make their first Westchester appearance on the Hutch, in honor of fellow parkway, the Cross County, which is a more urban highway lit throughout its run, unlike the bucolic Hutch.

The Cross County handles many Hutchskies looking to trade parkways with the more westerly Sprain, also known as the Sprain Brook. Why they named it after an ankle injury is beyond me. The rush hour traffic nightmares that plague the northbound Hutch from the Bronx line to this point, usually come to an end as half the northbounders opt out for the Cross County.

The exit is just past the iron arched overpass carrying the Cross County. Another, newer spur of the Cross County delivers northbounders into the Hutch a few exits up.

A deliberately overexposed shot to provide some overpass detail. Shot 10/23/99.
