Hutchinson River Expressway I-678

The Hutchinson River Pkwy used to begin at the toll plaza of the Whitestone Bridge...and it still does, but this ain't it. The service road is now the parkway and the parkway is now the expressway, up until the monstrous Bruckner Interchange anyway. I've thrown it in with the parkways because it is so short and so intimately tied to the Hutch Pkwy system.

Now we get to see the master plan. All truckers have to get to the right. Those who like to take their sweet time will head towards the George Washington by getting on the westbound Cross Bronx. Those in more of a hurry would be well advised to head towards the Triboro and maybe swing north on the Deegan afterwards to get the other bridge, if it's what they had to use. This region had been infested all fall with killer mosquitos. I think the nefarious bugs morph themselves at will into these orange construction pylons. They're all over the place lately, just like insects. Shot 10/99.
