| The stubby HRE doesn't have far to go. Its sole purpose in life was to get the truckers up the I-95/I278 Bruckner Interchange in a hurry from the Whitestone. Lafayette Ave. passes over up ahead, followed shortly thereafter by the Bruckner complex. The weather was threatening havoc that October 1999 Saturday. |

| Above a closer look at the overpass. The arches visible beyond carry the original routing of pre-expressway Bruckner Blvd.. Below, we careen out of control towards The Interchange. The big green things of course carry the maniacal Bruckner and Cross Bronx Expressways. Lots of southbounders queueing up on the left for the coming Whitestone tolls. The turreted building on the right is St. Josephs School for the Deaf. Shot 10/99. |
