The Hutch's lower interchange with the New England Thruway
I-95, at the southern end of Co-op City. I love these arches,
but they are not all that ancient. They probably date from the
50's or 60's. The ramp heading south from the Hutch onto the
NET is an unpleasant and sharply curved affair, with several
merges. The ramp I'm standing by while shooting this, on the
other hand, is a virtual Messiah of relief for motorists coming
off the usually clogged northbound I-95. Closeups of both sides
of the foremost double archway are below. |
