The Trouser Specialist Tapes

Little is known of the musicians commisioned to write the soundtrack to the seminal Trouser Specialist II movie, or whether they are involved in the forthcoming Trouser Specialist 2000. The sessions are rumoured to have been recorded in Leeds early in 1993.

"The Trouser Specialist Has Come To Your World To Rock", perhaps unsurprisingly, is a hard riffing wall of sound reminiscent of dangerous men and performance bikes. However, the song was never actually used, as the film's producers decided it would alienate their target audience; who rather than Scandinavian motorcycle outlaws were people who spent most of their free time at home watching television. 1149K MP3
The song that did make it, "Automaton Death Fist" is difficult to describe as it is unlike anything I have ever heard. At times it comes close to experimental freestyle hip-hop, though not close enough for this description to be of any use. 1430K MP3

Stefan Beufont

Known in this country for his legendary impersonation of authoritarian shopkeeper Alf Stewart. Marseille's master of impressions became frustrated that the deeper, more spiritual, side to his work was either ignored or misunderstood and retired to form a construction company in 1995. Featured here is a rare UK performance captured live on Liverpool based Shout FM's "Dan and Drew Show".
Part 1: The impressions that made him famous; Alf Stewart, Gerard Depardiou and Arnold from Diff'rent Strokes. 1700K MP3
Part 2: The darker, lesser known side of Stefan Beaufont; including Jimmy Nail and a sublime characterisation of Auf Wiedersehen Pet's Bomber. 1060K MP3
