When Watermelons and Pumpkins Go Bad
Before I start I just want to state that I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP!
This myth actually comes from the Muslim Gypsies of Yougoslavia and
the Balkans,it also makes me wonder exactly what were these people
drinking or smoking on those long winter nights.
Now according to these rather strange people both watermelons and pumpkins
are capable of becoming vampires. Granted, they are not very dangerous as they
have no teeth. Now according to the traditions of these gypsies any pumpkin or
watermelon kept more than ten days or after Christmas will come alive and roll
around on the ground growling. Have I said that I am not making this up?
If you are curious about whether your pumpkin is a vampire or not, well
one of the indications that a pumpkin has or is about to undergo a vampric
transformation is the appearance of a drop of blood on it.
The same holds true for watermelons, but is not restricted to them; any melon
is susceptible to this kind of vampric transformation. And here you thought that
vamprism was restricted to people, or at least non-vegatable based life forms.
