Renet knows the tape's ended, but Raph's still staring at the tiny window of the
videocamera. "Damn," he says softly, finally puts it down, leans against the side of the
van. She can see the glistening of tears in his eyes in the dim light. "Shoulda been there,
huh?"
She shrugs her shoulders. "It was cool," she says.
They stare at the videocamera for a while.
"Where's Leo?" he asks.
"I can't tell you that."
"He gets the show, too?"
She nods. "Wedding present."
"Lord Simultaneous know?"
She rolls her eyes. "Yah, right."
Raph grins. Same old Renet.
"I suppose you're not gonna tell me what happened there in the middle, between the
proposal and the ceremony? Where you drop the Sacred Sands..."
"Look, I gotta go, before he figures out I've been gone..." she gets up. "You two take care
of yourselves, okay?"
"You sure you don't want anything?" he says. "I swear I got some orange juice..." He
opens one of the coolers he hasn't tried yet, back behind the front seat.
It's stuffed with food.
"Shit, Renet, you didn't have to--" but she's already gone.
He checks the other coolers; they're all full. One of them has a note.
Took the orange juice; hope you don't mind. --Renet.
"Think I'll let you get away with it this time," he says, smiling.
