HISTORY

Tyrone Madison was born in Connecticut. Despite being black he grew up in the suburbs with white children. His father was intelligent high level engineer and made good pay. Still affected by racism Tyrone had the chance to see things a bit differently. His father always preached to strive no matter what. Tyrone attended NYU and received his degree in theater. He became a critic for the New York Times.

But Tyrone had a secret. He had the power to channel darkness to his whim. These powers originate from another dimension that Tyrone has access to. Tyrone later found out that his mother was accidentally irrated by energy when his father was conducting an experiment.

Madison decided that he must do something with these powers. Always being strong and athletic began his career as a vigilante. Despite being a critic Tyrone learned of many injustice's through his paper. With his powers and talents he quickly began an strong force against criminals.

He then help form the original Crusaders. While a Crusader there was a minor love triangle between himself, Fury, and Mountain Man. Mountain Man eventually began a relationship with Tyrone's younger sister. But the tension of a interracial relationship took it's toll. The couple of Fury and Dark Knight only lasted a year.

Tyrone did meet another woman. Her name was Lily and she was black. He found happiness with Lily and they got married.

Then came the infamous battle with the strange creature. The monster apparently killed three of the Crusaders. Tyrone seemed to die with his own powers. He unleashed his powers at the creature wildy. Actually opening a portal to the dimension of his power source. Dark Knight tried to take the creature with him to the dimension. But his sacrifice was in vain. The creature mauled Tyrone and lost control of the portal. Tyrone vanished.

After Tyrone's death Lily found out she was pregnant. She had a son called Timothy Madison. He also inherited powers from his father. The ability to turn his body to dense dark blue crystal. He later became the Protector Black Rock.

Tyrone also had a younger brother named Lawrence Madison. Larry also grew up to have powers like his brother. He could command a dark substance to cover his skin and solidify around him like an armor. This second black skin was as hard as steel. He became a member the 2nd incarnation Crusaders and called himself Onyx. Currently, he is a Protector as well.

Lily his wife still lives. Tyrone's sister Bonnie still lives but has not been seen for many years. After her lover the original Mountain Man died she went into seclusion.
