Hi! Welcome to my lair. It is a pleasure to participate in Jose Luis Vázquez's
page. In these pages you will find discussion on very different
topics I am interested on. You will find a bit of modern philosophy, the arts,
the new trends on physics, the solar system, etc. I hope you find this place
an entertaining as well as educative one.
Let me first say a few words about who I am. I am a 29 years old mexican physicist.
I was born in Mexico City, Mexico. I am the youngest of five brothers. I did
my BSc. on Physics Engineering at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores
de Monterrey in the city of Monterrey, N.L., Mexico. Afterwards I travelled to
England where I obtained a Ph.D on Theoretical Physics. Currently I live
in Mexico City.
For those of you who may not be familiar with where Mexico is, it is fair to say
a few words about it. Mexico is located in North America. It has borders with
the United States of America to the North and with Guatemala and Belize to the South.
To the East you will find the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean. To the
West you have the Pacific Ocean. Finally to the Southeast there is the beautiful
Caribean Sea.

The Capital of Mexico is Mexico City, with its more than 20 million people living in the city,
it is considered one of the largest cities in the world. Although I can spend
pages and pages talking about the problems that must face the people who lives here, I
prefer not to. Instead I would like to talk, just a little bit, about a magical place not too far
from Mexico City: Teotihuacan (The City of the Gods).
TEOTIHUACAN

Just 30 miles from Mexico City there is Teotihuacan. The great ruins that are found
there are the result of several different cultures. Teotihuacan is 2 miles long and
it is intersected across by the Avenue of the Dead. This avenue gives access to
the principal buildings of the complex. Amongst these is the Ciudadela a huge
square 400 meters to the side. It has four platforms and fifteen pyramids. The Great
Pyramid is dedicated to Quetzacoatl (The Feathered Serpent). The Ciudadela was dedicated
to Quetzalcoatl and to Tlaloc (The God of the Rain). The Great Pyramid of the Sun
is a gigantic construction with a square base, the base is 224 meters in each side,
it occupies 50176 square meters and its volume is of over one million cubic meters, with an
approximate weight of three million tons.

Another remarkable building is the Pyramid of the Moon. It has a base of 156 meters long and
130 meter wide. Other important buildings are: The Agriculture Temple (with beatiful
paintings), the underground buildings decorated with fine paintings influenced by the
totonacans. In the museum nearby you can see the objects rescued by the
archaeologists in the excavations.
