The costumes I wore at this Katuscon were pretty thrown together at the last minute. I got caught up in some stuff, and ended up throwing a lot of this stuff together at the last minute. But hey, that’s what happens when life intrudes upon one’s insanity...hahaha...
Squirtle from Pokemon. I won’t tell you how long and hard I’d stressed about the colors; and as it is, the colors came out tie-dyeish. But I still think it’s pretty cute. And the most important thing --- it was very comfortable to walk around in.
This is the backside of the Squirtle costume (duh). I totally love that shell. When I was making it, I couldn’t find a real turtle shell big enough to put on my back. Finally, I decided to make my own…and from there it evolved into a turtle shell backpack purse. As it is, that little purse is so cute that I wear it out. Yes, I’m a dork. I think we’ve already established that...
This was a pretty last minute costume (Mokona from Magical Knights Rayearth). I took an old nightie (oh the scandal), and bought some fur and whipped this up two nights before Katsucon. I think I have to rename Katsucon 6 – “the convention where Fenny was totally comfy”... :)
Here I am with some chick dressed up as Clef. I loved her costume. Too bad the background were we were standing was so colorful, so it doesn’t really come out. I think I’m also a little drunk in this picture. I made many trips to the hotel bar that weekend.
Another pic of me as Monoka. Look at the feet! I wore my fluffy, furry white slippers. Like I said, this was the convention where I was totally comfortable, even if it wasn’t my best stuff...
