MINI MINIATURE MODELING SHOW
(Bukit Purmei, 27th Nov 1999)

It certainly was a day to remember as THE MODEL WORKSHOP held its very 1st modeling demonstration at Bukit Purmei, as part of their RC new IT centre Openhouse. Present were the general publics, as well as the MP of Bukit Purmei. It was ideal because the event helped to generate interest and awareness in the general public. It was also unique as all of the displays we had put on had won awards in one way or the other. A definite step forward in expressing the fine art of modeling. Present was a manual demonstration session (despite harsh weather) managed by members of TMWS. Tang TJ, a local webmaster of the highly successful S.T.O.R.M website, was also present to offer his services. IPMS, an officially recognized club in Singapore, also had it's President, Mr. Sudhesh Nair, to conduct a figure painting demonstration. It was indeed fascinating and uncommon as nothing like it has been seen by most of the people present. The many questions asked and number of onlookers are also marks of our effort. It did take quite a lot of time and energy on the "beforehand" work, transport of models, arrangement, planning and preparation but we have succeeded in bringing the public a step closer to the miniature world of modeling. If we have the capacity and time permits, we would love to host another such event. Till then, thank you and all for making the event a success. Zeke
