Establishing shot showing the floor of a steamy jungle

Scene 2
Mary and Jane walk past the camera, which pans to follow. They wear clothing suggesting a jungle safari. Jane is the fitter of the two and is in the lead. Mary lags behind slightly; she is affected more by the heat and humidity.
Cut to
Scene 3
Jane walks up the trail rapidly. Mary has been left behind. Jane stops in front of the camera as she reaches it. She looks back in frustration.
Jane: "Come on, where are you."
Cut to
Scene 4
Mary walks up to and past the camera, which pans as she passes. She looks tired.
Mary: "Come on Jane, slow down."
Cut to
Scene 5
A shot of Jane, who has stopped to wait for Mary. Mary comes into view.
Jane: "Come on, why can't you walk faster?"
Mary: "Why can't you walk slower?"
Jane: "Do youi smoke or something?"
Mary: "No, of course not....But I'm not on the track team either."
Jane now starts off down the trail at full speed, leaving Mary no time to catch her breath.
Fade to black
Fade in to
Scene 6
Jane strides by the camera, which pans as she passes. After passing the camera she moves into an area that is very open and muddy - basically a mud flat."

Scene 7
Mary walks by the same camera position
as it scene 6. The camera pans to follow as she passes. She follows Jane
onto the mud flat. We can see Jane at least 50 yards ahead.

Scene 8
A shot from on the mud flat ahead of Jane. Jane approaches, following a somewhat curved or sinuous path. Mary can be seen far behind.

Scene 9
A shot of Mary moving as quickly as she can to follow Jane, who can again be seen in the background.

Scene 10
A shot of Jane from a position between her and Mary. Jane stops and looks back. She gestures with her arms for Mary to come on.
Jane: "Hurry up."

Scene 11
A high angle shot of Mary. We can see from her tracks that she is following a straighter path than Jane, trying to keep up by following a straighter path.

Scene 12
A full body shot of Mary, front in front of her. She walks forward, then plunges almost to the waist into soft mud.
Mary: "eeeeeeiiiiiieeeee Oh shit, what's this....Oh my God, it's quicksand.....Jane....Help!....Help!"

Scene 13
A shot from behind and to one side of Jane. We hear some of the above dialogue continued as the scene begins. Jane turns to see what is happening.
Mary: "Help!....Quicksand!....Help!"

Scene 14
A close up of Jane from a position between her and Mary. She recognizes what is happening.
Jane: "Oh no!....Mary, I'm coming!....Hang on."

Scene 15
A shot of Jane running toward the camera (toward Mary). She takes 6 or 7 running strides and runs straight into another quicksand pit, plunging at least to her waist.

Scene 16
Scene 16 is a montage of shots, using three cameras for each girl. Mary and Jane both struggle and scream a lot but sink streadily (more slowly as they get deeper) until they have both gone under.
