Scene 1

An establishing shot of a large marsh. The camera pans back and forth from two or three different angles for a minute or more. A boardwalk and pathway is visible at least part of the time. Background music is pleasant but with a slight discordant note occasionally, suggesting that all is not well.

Scene 2

A wide angle shot of the marsh. The camera pans upward to the horizon to reveal that it is sunset. The background music becomes slightly more discordant as the sun sets.

Scene 3

Background music stops. An establishing shot of a small, empty parking lot. A car drives in from a road and pulls into a parking space. A young woman gets out. She walks up to the beginning of a trail and looks up at a sign.

Cut to

Scene 4

A shot of a nature park sign. It reads, "Forbidden Bayou Park. Open dawn to sunset only."

Cut to

Scene 5

A face shot of the woman looking up at the sign. She scowls.

Woman: "Closed..... Well the hell with that."

Cut to

Scene 6

A shot from the side and then behind as she starts down the path.

Woman: "How can they close so early....This is the best time to see wild life."

The camera follows as she walks thirty yards or so. She comes to another sign and stops to read. All we can read, however, is "Closed sunset to sunrise."

Cut to

Scene 7

A shot of the sign, which she now reads out loud.

Woman: " 'Forbidden Bayou Park....According to legend the native peoples of this region have long believed this marsh and surrounding forest to be haunted by malevolent spirits. In their culture this area has been considered taboo after dark for hundreds of years. Please respect that tradition'....Phooey....I can respect their tradition but I don't have to follow it."

Scenes 9 through about 14

Shots of the woman walking, taken from various angles. She is shown sometimes on a path and sometimes on a wooden boardwalk or bridge. In the last two scenes she is on a boardwalk that is elevated about 15 to 18 inches above the surface of the marsh.

Cut to

Scene 15

A full body shot as the woman stops at the end of the boardwalk. She gazes out onto the marsh.

Cut to

Scene 16

A face shot showing the woman looking back and forth. Suddenly there is a snap or splashing sound. She turns to look in surprise.

Cut to

Scene 17

A full body shot from out on the marsh as the woman turns to look behind her. She sees nothing. While she is still off balance, there is a loud crack and the boardwalk itself collapses beneath her. It drops her sideways into the marsh mud.

Woman: "Oooooo" (as she falls)...."Oh yuck....Oh shit" (as she lands).

Cut to

Scene 18

This scene is shot with at least three cameras, each offering a different view, at least one of which should be a 45 degree, downward view of her face. It is a lengthy scene in which she flounders in the mud, realizes it is deep and dangerous, struggles and screams a lot, and eventually goes completely under.

Scene 19

A view of the collapsed boardwalk from the marsh. A high speed shot of the board collapsing (without the woman) is played slowly and backwards to portray it gradually re-assembling itself.
