when the goddess rose from her shell
the silver waters parting from her skin
the wild ocean surging behind her lashes
I was there.
And I towelled her cheeks with the sun's light
kissed her flesh with moondancing flame
so she stood before me in pure and utter glory
I smiled.
When the people came to know her touch
the whispers of magic throughout her domain
sunrise to awed and trusting sunrise
none was more devoted than I.
and when they forgot and turned away
complacent in the reaching mountain shadows
she became little more known than a breath of wind
I remain.
