The moon was upside down, and they thought that was normal, and so did Jane.
The sun went the wrong way around the sky in circles, but they thought that was okay, and so did Jane.
And the stars didn't make themselves into pictures of great animals chased by hunters and queens and gods and goddesses, but into shapes - crosses, triangles, squares and spirals, and ordinary things like saucepans and fish-hooks.
And that was just the way it was, so everybody said, and so did Jane.
