As I walk back into the campground to make lunch (late) I'm grabbed by Heather, who is at reception with everyone else trying to sort out their booking - computers are down, and Heather can't have the cabins she wants. We eventually get them in, I go make lunch. They all insist they want to go to Uluru Right Now. They have rented a car, my share will be $78. I only budgeted $50 for transport. I could do what they want to for $60, alone. I don't have a choice. We get in the Tarago, 6 women, and rush to Uluru to see what's there. None of them have looked at a map, have oriented themselves, or know what's on. I'm not sure they know they're in the NT. They are surprised that I know the things to do here for free. They were all listed on big signs in the camp reception where they waited 20 minutes.
We drive back and forth a bit, take a short walk which includes a prayer to "Mother Uluru" to tell us "what to do". We watch the sunset, after arguing over what the time really is (and how long until) for 20 min. One lady says that "Mutant Message" says you should surrender to the blowflies, and holds out her arms in sacrifice. I haven't seen any.
