Dear Bigtime,
I have just bought the second issue of your graff mag and I honestly have to say that this is one of the few publications that has a very original and thought provoking content. As I flipped through the pages of text and pictures one article that got my attention was an article written by SKILL UTI entitled A 90's Ghetto Art Wake-Up Script. As I read this artlicle I could not believe what SKILL had to say. He seems to have a huge problem with the suburbs and how suburban kids or "yuppies" have invaded the grafiti art world. Now I will be the first to tell you that the suburbs is the worst place on earth but saying that kids in the suburbs can not do true graffiti is absurd. Graffiti art was born in the streets of the inner-city, but this does not mean that this art form should be confined to its birthplace. Being that I am from the suburbs and am a writer, I have a real problem with this issue. I live in the suburbs of Northern Virginia where the graffiti scene is very small and unstable. A lot of the kids do not know the real history and background of graffiti but that does not mean that they cannot learn. Graffiti art is about educating and making people see what they don't want to learn or see. It is up to the graffiti community to teach these ignorant writers. If we shun every writer because of where they are from of how much their parents' income is, then we are no better than the corporate giants that ignore the poor communities of America. Graffiti art, to me, is about educating and uniting; if we leave certain people out of our scene then we are no better than the demons we fight.

Much respect,
