Probably the
oldest photo in the collection, I did this way back in my senior
year of high school in my Graphic Communications class.
I believe the
technique is called a 'photogram' - essentially, you place objects
directly on the photographic paper then expose it to a bright light
for a few seconds... then see what develops. It was an interesting
exercise, and I would like to try it again sometime.
The subject
is, I admit, rather cheesy. But I think the technique gives the
image an otherworldly, kinda organic quality that I, personally,
believe really adds something to the picture.
