A Dreamscape
3-24-00

Tenacious Snowmen
Clinging to life
In the deepest
Night-park shadows
Freshly mowed grass
Clippings flutter, settling
A beaded curtain
That reveals the way
Stone bridges leading
To the past
Too-wise children
Playing beyond their years
In a confusion
Of words and numbers
From light into shadows
And back again
I try to find
The way home
Through dry, empty streets
Guided by five-fold dancers
Their steps unrecognized
Their tune unknown
I stumble through
The gate again
To my home
Back in the day.
