I think of her when
the light starts to fade
A half-forgotten shade rising form the depths
She reaches inside, her burning fingers
Tearing away all that I was.
All that I wanted to be.
I scream. I rage.
Misery and pain take to the air,
The wailing children of this failed union.
The walls echo my screams.
Reflecting and focusing.
Backtracking on the trail of tears.
I sit there, in the ruins of myself.
The pain washing over me.
Wearing me down.
Leaving nothing but a broken shell,
A handful of dust.
Leaving a broken heart
And shattered dreams.
