Otorona Attache

Now let's look at another early microcomputer, Otorona Attache systems

I chose this microcomputer was it was touted to be the first portable computer. At 20lb, it is hardly portable. You need to be a weight lifter to lug this around. Later, this term "portable" was altered by others in the industry to "transportable" microcomputers.

This is the ancestor of our current portable microcomputers, laptops and the like.

Specifications of the Otorona Attache was as follows:

  • CPU - Z80A running at 4MHz running on CP/M 2.2 os
  • RAM Memory of 64K.
  • VDU - monochrome, 24 x 40 or 24 x 80
  • Graphics - poor
  • Input-Output - cassette
  • Diskette capacity - 5.25" diskette of 360k
