Tandy Radio Shack

Now let's look at another early microcomputer Tandy Radio Shack or the TRS80.

I had a chance to use this microcomputer too. Thr thing I remember about this is that the cassette I used to store programs has a tendency to fail and I have to type again all my programs.

The TRS80 I used was the Model II

Specifications of the TRS80 Model II was as follows:

  • CPU - z80A running at 4 MHz.
  • RAM Memory of 32K or 64K.
  • VDU - usually monochrome, 80 x 24
  • Graphics, poorer than Apple ][, this system was not meant for graphical display
  • Input-Output - initially cassette, later 5.25" diskette.
  • Diskette capacity - read it yourself, they are all different
