Sadness lingers within liquid tears
Glistening traces of a haunted soul
Tormented eyes that have seen it all
Embrace secrets through passing years
Though she dreams of times gone by
No tender touch has her heart felt
Once there was one, now forgotten
And loneliness denies her desires
Stolen moments, no one sees her there
As she watches from a window
That might as well be her cell
Like a captured bird in a cage
Prisoner to a man with no love to give
He locks her up safe in his tower
So that her beautiful face
Will never be looked upon
He visits her only when it is his will
To make use of her sacred body
That he believes to be a possession
So she cries long into the night
With no hope left in her timeless keep
Her mind slowly seeps into despair
A strong spirit has faded away
As she slips farther into her desolate world.
