Hie hence, be gone, away!

Links to other great Shakespearean sites!

Humor/Parodies:

Hamlet: The Missing Scenes. I did not write this. I wish to God I did. See Hamlet get some help from another Great Dane...

What if Dr. Seuss did Shakespeare? Remember that tongue-twisting classic "Fox in Socks"? Think it would sound any less tongue-twisting in iambic pentameter?

Authorship Issue:

Who Wrote The Works? This site considers the debate that Edward DeVere, Earl of Oxford, might have actually written the plays attributed to Shakespeare.

Shakespeare Authorship Page. On the other side of the issue is this Stratfordian page, which argues that Shakespeare really did write his own plays (a radical theory).

Study Guides:

Here Lieth A Piteous Shakespeare Page. A wonderful study guide to the works, with discussions of various plays and film versions, and great links.

Shakespeare Classroom. With an eye to both the student who is learning Shakespeare and the teacher who is teaching him.

Reviews and Plot Summaries of Shakespeare's Best Plays. This is a good study guide and an honest reviewer, but he's too hard on Romeo & Juliet!

Shakespearean Homework Helper.  Another good page for the student and the first-timer.

Surfing with the Bard. Good resource for Shakespeare on film, discussions, and FAQs.

Romeo & Juliet. A fine study guide on the play, meant to be used in conjunction with the 1968 movie.

Shakespeare on Film:

Twelfth Night. Official site for the 1996 film with Helena Bonham Carter.

Richard III. A site for the 1996 film which cast the play in a 1930s, fascist Europe.

Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet. This site contains background on the making of the film, its music, and its actors. And of course, lots of pictures.
