Quiltropolis is a store, but the website has various services: a bulletin board, shopping mall, chat rooms, quilting forum, etc.
I used the bulletin board and looked at the new Hoffman fabrics. It also has links to "Quilt Art" and the Quilt Art Gallery.
This site is only a portion of the offerings of About.com. It is in "magazine" format. Instructions for quilting techniques, photos of quilts, even a bbs/chat forum.
This is a good resource from basic to advanced quilting techniques.
Fractals are mathematical functions that are iterative and interesting when mapped. This gallery shows fractal images derived from a freeware program,
fractint, available for IBM-compatible computers. I found these images most interesting and "quiltlike."
