In the darkness is where I stand helpless and hurting, I don't understand I see you crying I hear you crying I reach out to you, yet.... I'm too far away

All I can do is stand here like a statue watching you cry watching you hurt I stand here feeling helpless

The hurt begins to consume me too as I begin to cry in vain I begin to feel your pain And the distance between us stays the same

I reach for you once again to hold you to comfort you to keep you safe, but alas.... I just stand helpless
