Title: The Union
Writer: Christy Jones

There I stood alone--
cracked and withered
as an old brick wall.

Every inch had been
left cold and hard
by heartless Father Time.

And that was exactly
the way you found me--
still and lifeless.

I know not why
you touched me then,
and tickled me with warmth,

but from that moment forward
we became connected
by an unbreakable bond.

Your love spread green ivy
through every empty crevice
of this stony heart;

each day consuming
more and more of me with life
until we became one.

Now as people pass,
no longer do they see
an old decaying wall,

but a living structure
that displays a perfect union
of unconditional love.
