I call myself Andira, well at least that is my alias on the web! I am a 28 year old computer addict. I taught myself HTML a few years ago and have become totally addicted to it! I have been trying to learn JavaScript to take my web page design another step. I love learning new things that will expand my knowledge of creating awesome pages. For Christmas last year, I got a cool flatbed scanner so my page has already started to improve.
I spend many hours staring at this computer screen and typing away on my keyboard. It is my calling I think. Any hobby that has to do with computers interests me. I can always find some reason to sign on to the Net or turn on my computer for that matter. The problem is that once I turn it on, I will be here for hours!
I hope you have enjoyed touring my virtual castle, Arbonne. I started creating it about a year or so ago. Since then, I have learned to use an HTML generator, although I do not prefer it. However, I must admit having a spell-checker is nice. So far, I have refused to use it for my personal page. All that you see here at the castle was indeed created from many, many hours of staring at my monitor, tapping on the keys, and a lot of trial and error! Just straight, hard-scripting HTML is my favorite! That may sound odd, but I just enjoy it more than having software to create for me. HTML has almost become a stress reliever for me!
True website designers will agree that no webpage is ever finished. I started my castle with only a few rooms and you see how many I have now! I still have several ideas for information for more rooms just haven't had a chance to sit down and create them. I am working on creating an image map of the castle that will allow visitors to click on areas of the castle image to go to the different rooms. Cool, huh?
I am also very interested in photography, mostly black and white. I hope to create an area displaying some of my work. So, stay tuned for more on this subject...
In January or February of 1998, I became a Geocities Community Leader. It is quite an honor. I get to help other Geocities Homesteaders create their pages and offer help when they can't figure out problems with HTML. It is a lot of fun, but can be time consuming. I get the chance to meet new people and help them create their own virtual paradises! It is a neat volunteer job, I guess.
