RedPoint Printmaking Studio and Gallery is a newly established, non-profit art organisation. It was founded by the initiatives of some art graduate students who share the same spirit and aspiration, that is to promote printmaking in Indonesia.
Printmaking in Indonesia was pioneered at about 1940-s by some academicians. But it did not go further from there. Static development and poor condition of printmaking's existence in Indonesia's general art world went continuosly. Lack of facilities, funds and resources outside campuses added to the problem. It caused difficulties for graduate students or artists outside campus to be consistently and persistently working on their path - become professional printmakers.
From that point of view, and looking at the progress has been achieved by artists and printmakers outside Indonesia; groups, institutions even individuals dedicate themselves for the development of printmaking, we enthusiastically would like to try to make a contribution for a better condition of printmaking in Indonesia.
Now, we specially serve to facilitate intaglio and relief print. We are open for everyone; printmakers, artists and students including interested persons who want to learn or produce printmaking, but find it difficult by the lack of facilities.
We organised education and information programs to widened public's knowledge and appreciation of printmaking. We sponsored talented and productive artists to work in our studio and to exhibit their works in our gallery.
We seek for any kind of support to enhance our vision and knowledge, such as organise workshop or seminars, conducted by master of printmakers who are willing to help us.
We also seek for possibilities to join artists' exchange programs or to receibive any kind of grants that would be delivered to one of young and talented printmakers who joined us.
