Alden

All I can say is, it's a damn good thing that mass-murdering your classmates hadn't been invented yet when I was in the ninth grade.
Humiliate me and deny me
Harass, condemn, and crucify me
Throw all your rage and fear and bile
At the pale form of one girl-child

My silence, now, was that my sin
Was it the dreamworld I lived in
My books, the weakness of my eyes
The ease with which you made me cry?

When your errors I denied
Was it my mind that hurt your pride?
At last, indignent, I debated,
Was it my voice that you so hated?

But see me as I am today
Avert your eyes, quick, turn away
Ahh, do you not like what you see?
Remember, you created me.
