Hi there, friends! Welcome to the Toad-agotchi home page! Surely you've heard of the Tamagotchi craze which has been sweeping the modern world. If not, then it's about time you did! (This page is currently under construction, so all links may not work.)

Where can I get a Toad-agotchi?

Just what is a ? To answer this question you should first know what a tamagotchi is. The Tamagotchi is a creation from Bandai Toys, and is what's called a "virtual pet." The Toad-agotchi is a rip off of the original thing. It's very simple system: someone comes up with a good idea, and everybody else copies off it, with a little something added. I, too, have decided to pursue this idea, and cash in on the virtual pet fad. Just like the Tamagotchi, the Toad-agotchi is affixed to a key chain, and is contained within it's own little flattened sphere of plastic. It's LCD screen is almost exactly the same, with the little symbols changed a bit. It has several additions, which are nice little improvements. Simplicity was an element strived for by it's designer, one of the positive features found in the Tamagotchi's design. It features different characters than the original egg, obviously, with more stages of development. Many of the improvements are subtle, but some are not. Some of them are pretty radical. These are intended to add to the overall appeal of the game. Only time will tell if they are a success. Back to top

The Story Line You are the ToadMaster. It is your duty to care for and protect your little toad from birth to death. You tell the toad when it's time to go hunt for food, tell it if it should go or stay. You rule the toad. Thie goal is to bring your toad to adult hood, without becoming too bored. Maybe you'll find the toad to be a bore, then you can make the toads life a living heck. Back to top

What are the Rules? The rules are very similar, in some ways. If the toad won't do as you say, then you smite it. Smiting the toad helps to give it experience. Smiting it just for fun also gives it experience. As such, you can actually cause the toad to die for your own amusement. Playing this will help you realize if you are a sadist or not. You must tell the toad to hunt when it's food storage is low. You tell the toad whether or not it should eat something or not. You order the toad to fight when it's time to fight. You command the toad to surrender and run, when it's time to surrender and run. Your decisions could give the toad it's victorious triumphs or it's embarassing defeats. Back to top

What are these "Improvements?" Toads are wild animals, not usually very dangerous albeit, but still not a domesticated animal. The point is, they don't need love. Hence, there is no happy meter. That means no stupid games, which are dull and asinine. There are other options instead. There is the hunt/forage option, which allows you to explore and interact with your environment. The older your toad gets, the longer it can go between eating, and the more it eats means the faster it will grow. As you hunt, you burn your fat storage, but you need to hunt to eat. As you grow older you can wait in ambush for things to come. Your toads diet also changes as it ages. You'll discover that things that would eat it as a tadpole are food for an adult. The things you eat and the treatment you give it all influence its survival. The toad it may grow up to be depends on the strategy you take. Back to top

Meet the Characters! There are several adult characters, as well as several juvenile characters. As many of us know, but for those of us who don't, toads start out in this world as tadpoles. So does Toad-agotchi! Amazing! This is the egg This is the egg with a tadpole in it. This is the first tadpole stage. This is the second larger tadpole stage. This is the 2-leg tadpole stage. This is the 4-leg tadpole stage. The 4-leg, shortened tail stage. The first toadlet stage. Second toadlet stage, option 1 Second toadlet stage, option 2 Second toadlet stage, option 3 Corpus Allus Mozus Bloatus Dingus Grumpus There are four death alternatives, depending on the treatment of your toad. But then, the question arises, is there life after death? Yes there is! There are two hidden characters which can be reached only after attaining death. It makes things more interesting, I think. In addition to the playing characters, there are also some fear inspiring delights! I call them, predators! That's right, at any given moment, your precious little pet could be devoured by a hungry predator. Life's tough, and so is this game. Here they are: The predator fish! A danger only while a tadpole.
