COMPASSION Each does think himself compassionate When angry words and eyebrows meet frustration And holds fast to stubborness. The two being immobile, The same poles grinding the same axis, Yet worlds apart. Each misunderstanding the other`s needs, The inner being fails to realize, That in each eye is but the other There to find.

By Just One Thought. If each person in the world Thought just for one moment If each person in the world , Changed because of that thought Then what a better world it would be. If just in a small quiet moment A conscience sparked by that thought Echoed throughout each land The New Year would bring fresh hope And promise for a better tomorrow. If by one point of light Because of that thought shone in the dark, It would grow and become a beacon. A light that could shine through out world`s pain. With such a light no darkness could exist. If by a thought hands joined Each hand held a candle Each candle became a beacon A promise of hope, a future, A dream became a reality, Then pain and suffering would be gone, And by this thought all would be achieved.

REMEMBER ME REMEMBER ME WHEN I HAVE GONE FROM YOU BUT KNOW THAT I HAVE GONE RELUCTANTLY AND FOUGHT WITH EVERY FIBRE OF MY BEING TO STAY WITH YOU. LIFE CLAIMS US ALL BUT OUR HEARTS GO ON REMEMBERING. I WILL COME TO YOU PERHAPS IN ANOTHER FORM IN LIFE, IN DEATH, NOTHING SEPARATES THOSE WHO LOVE. LOVE REMAINS AND MEMORY, TO SHED A TEAR, TO BRING A SMILE A THOUGHT THAT SAYS I LOVE YOU

The Farewell Now I'm here but soon I'll be gone We'll then be separated by space filled by water or land Now I'm with you Together we talk and play Then we'll be far apart Beyond sight and touch Pray! Let no distance This friendship break Nor waters our feelings wash away Let memories remain alive in your heart To remind you of me always And should we meet again After months and years have gone their way nothing would be changed between us Yet if we never meet again There would be no cause to grieve or hurt For then I'll be rest assured I'll always be on your mind © Ibitomilade Adejuyigbe (2000)

The clouds floated across the sky, And hid behind the trees, These gentle giants hovered past, In the crisp summer breeze. I ran as if to save my life, As dust settled in the air, I thought that the weather would be bad, But the summer eve was fair. But once I arrived, I stopped, Hesitating to open the door, Because I knew that after this night, I couldn’t see them anymore. As we talked in the light of the summer moon, A tear slid down her face, I could hardly believe that the next day, I would have to leave this place. As I walked out of the door the next day, Her daughter grabbed me tight, She said that she wouldn’t let me leave, And pulled my leg with all her might. Eventually we said goodbye, And I went my separate way, But I knew deep down inside, That I’d see them again another day.

Lonliness wafts over me As a guy falls in love With me, and I Don't love him back. Lonliness wafts over me As I find that love is in the air And I can't breathe

Chasing Amy The wind flows through the trees, The embers of light dim peacefully, We’re all chasing Amy, aren’t we. Stop, Stand, look, and search with all your might, You won’t find Amy, despite the outrageous Things you go through. She’s the one, she’s The only one; you loved her with all your Heart, yet she runs and still your chasing Amy, She comes to you in your dreams, no sex, no Lust, no violence, just peaceful thoughts of hope That will never end, yet when you wake up your Still chasing Amy. Half the world is, half the country is, half of you is still chasing Amy.

Drinking and Driving Close by the door he paused to stand As he slipped his class ring off her hand All who watched did not care to speak As a single tear rolled down his cheek As the wind stared to blow They lowered her casket down below This is what happenes to many alive When friends let friends drink and drive.

THE COLLECTOR! Rare and endangered, hybreds and plane, to the colector your all the same. She collect's for fun, she collects to save, she steal's from mother's and father's alike, the only thing she takes are the children durning the night. Pleagues, famines, war, and death when you're a collection of her's you've taken your last breath.

The Angel is Returned Dedicated to Betty Melton The love you instilled in life of family and friends, The memories we treasure about you transcends. The grace and comfort you always gave to us will remain among our hearts’ deep crevice. The joy of life was felt through you, An angel on earth yet patient and true. We rejoiced in the moments when all was together But as your wings spread to fly you leave us but a feather. As crystal clear jewels fall from our eyes of sadness, You looked down upon us with relief in happiness. The time on earth is but a short departure For soon a joining will awaken with the Father. We will meet again in a night more divine And it is then that our the light will forever shine. The world seems lonely and so unfair with out your presence for all to share. Your loved ones remembrance keep you near. And all that hold you close sheds you a tear. And with that tear flows a continuous river That abounds with reminiscences that always linger. You are our blessed and loved angel we will never forget as you are remembered with peace at each time the sun sets... Deborah Alcantara December 24, 1998

How wide your eyes with innocence are! What wall has separated you from this teeming world? Would that I could take your place there, in the shade of naivity and ignorance! Instead, I have been thrust out into this Death Valley of knowledge and left to fend for myself against the serpent. The searing heat of guilt brings forth pin-pricks of blood--leaking soul-- from my skin. They drop, glistening and crimson, onto the grating sand and slither away, only to return and attack me, washing me in their hatred.

Footprint I savor the taste of your flesh. Your passion still warms my skin. And that part of me remembers The moist embrace you hold within. And as bare feet mark wet sand, For the surf to wash away, So does our lovemaking linger On my body throughout the day. Michael B. Cole
