This is the part that everyone hates, but if you are going to pursue melting metal in your back yard you need to take some common sense precautions. I am going to briefly discuss the Safety precautions I use when I work with molten metals, use them as a guideline, something to be considered and built upon. I will provide Photos as time and space allow, please be patient. I will be continually adding information to all my pages.

FIRE PREVENTION EQUIPMENT A FIRE EXTINGUSURE: Is a must if you are going to do this kind of work. If you don't have a Fire Extinguisher DON'T do this!!! SAND: The best fire fighting substance you can have on hand!!! You will need a lot of sand. WATER: NEVER! NEVER! NEVER! Pour water on molten metal!!! The resulting steam can be EXPLOSIVE!!
