Bally Studios is currently working with low fire glazes applied to wheel thrown plates, platters and bowls. These bright vibrant colors are used to creates various aquatic designs (Frogs , Fish, Shell and Lizards). Virginia is also working with these colors to produce original patterns derrived from the Garden.

A alternative application for these low fire glazes is to airbrush them onto hand thrown vessels to achieve a high gloss blue-green finish that gently fades to terra cotta with gold highlights, which are added later.

Bally Studios is also pursuing a method of altering these hand made vessels by sandblasting various designs and patterns onto their surface and then finishing with a hard, satin, black glaze. Some of these pieces have metal ornaments incorporated into their design. We have also been using these methods to produce Ceramic Masks.
