Candle light and soul forever
(What does that mean?)
A dream of you and me together
(Oh no. A mushy song)
Say you believe it
Say you believe it
(I really can't though. It doesn't make sense, your success)
Free your mind of doubt and danger
Be for real, don't be a stranger
(What? Another one of those 'Hey it rhymes' things, I think)
We can achieve it
We can achieve it
(Achieve what? Phenomenol success by tricking pre-teen girls?)
Come a little bit closer baby
(Please, I'd rather not)
Get it on
Get it on
(Do you guys know any other sexual metaphor other than 'Get it on'?)
Cos tonight is the night when two become one
(Oh, goody goody gumdrops)
I need some love like I never needed love before (wanna make love to you baby)
I had a little love now I'm back for more (wanna make love to you baby)
(Gosh, you guys are nymphos)
Set your spirit free
It's the only way to be
(Was that all supposed to be meaningful?)
Silly games that you were playing
(They were obviously just zigazigahing)
Empty words we both were saying
(I told you you were empty, you didn't listen though and kept putting out singles)
Let's work it out, boy
Let's work it out, boy
(I heard that Emma was dating someone in Boyzone)
Any deal that we endeavour
(I bet they don't know what 'endeavour' means)
Boys and girls look good together
Take it or leave it
Take it or leave it
(Personally, I think Geri 'leaves' it, hur hur hur *coughgerisalesbiancough*)
Are you as good as I remember baby?
(Better than you, at least)
Get it on
Get it on
(There you go again)
That annoying chorus again
Be a little bit wiser baby
(Be a little bit wiser baby, turn it off, turn it off)
Put it on
Put it on
(See these two lines? Spice Girls claim that, because of this three-word phrase, this song is now about safe sex)
Chorus. Please stop. I beg you
It's the only way to be
It's the only way to be
It's the only way to be
(Okay, we get the point)
This song is not about safe sex. Rather, it is a commentary on Spice Girls' career to date. 'Say you'll believe it' and 'Free your mind of doubt' is Spice Girls starting off the story of them all coming together to write these 'songs', begging you to listen to them. 'We can achieve it' is one of the brighter Spices telling the other Girls that if they go along with this story, they will make millions. 'Tonight is the night when two becomes one' is talking about the Girls splitting from their manager that moulded them: manager and groop becomes just groop. 'Empty words we both were saying' is an ironic critique of their songs; Spice Girls know they are singing crap. 'Boys and girls look good together, take it or leave it' is really about them 'leaving' it and ditching their male management for awhile. Listen, you'll understand.
