Washington

We arrived in Washington late on the afternoon of August 9. It was a Friday. I recall that it was over 100 east of the Cascades, and I was just melting, as were the dogs.

The poor old RV disspated engine heat by blasting it into the passenger compartment, and since I as only getting 6.5 MPH as it was, I didn't have the nerve to turn on the A/C

When I stopped to get gas at the end of the day, I couldn't find my ATM/debit card. I couldn't find it anywhere in the RV that evening, either, so I figured I'd either left it at the last gas station, back in Pendleton, or at a rest area I'd stopped at later. I tried to get the phone number of the gas station to check, but Directory Assistance had nothing.

On Saturday, I called the bank to report the card missing, but I was too late. I had left the card at the gas station, but they had turned it in to the local branch, who held it until the end of the business day on Saturday morning and then destroyed it.
