Jim Cullen says that "SAMIZDAT were newsletters and journals that were clandestinely printed and distributed by dissidents in the Soviet Union. It has since come to mean unofficial news or news out of the mainstream."
Information is kind of like news, but older and more thorough - think of it as "mature" news. Here are some of the better and more interesting sources of information on the net:
Inside The Web will let you set up your own messageboard, as well as view any messageboards they've got. This is "free" in the sense that the only price is putting up with advertising - in other words, it really is free.
The L0pht (careful with that spelling!) is a hacker resource center - 'nuff said.
The Webring Organization are the people who invented webrings, and offer them freely to everyone. If you know people with a similar interest, you could set up your own ring - or, maybe you'd like to join one that already exists. The rings are all listable, so check'em out.
The Legal Information Institute is an *excellent* source for anything pertaining to law in America, particularly Federal law.
The Propaganda Analysis Home page provides an excellent vivisection of propaganda from both left-wing and right-wing sources - most notably the enigmatic Bo Gritz.
Remeber, in many places even THINKING this stuff is illegal ... and could be here soon.
The Arc-Hive is a satiric clearing house of wierd ideas, conspiracy theories and the like. IN HOC JELLO VINCES!!
