mostly here.

Welcome to my online journal. It's my nice little way of making my freakishly long Sunday night shift at the lab go by faster. So basically, it's a bunch of random thoughts on my week put together mostly for my own enjoyment. You can read it if you want...you voyeur! Just kidding you're cool.

Rent n Stuff: I rediscovered the ICK that is apartment hunting this week. My soon-to-be new roomie and I checked out a few places this weekend and I think we settled on one. It's a townhouse that's a lot closer to school than I am now. Now all I have to do is find a new job to do things that are nice to do sometimes like eat and pay rent. Wheee! Also, my bandmate who shall remain nameless informed me that we now have a studio to practice in=Good! What he failed to mention is that it's $450 bucks a month for the rent=Evil! Honestly, Jason...

Song that keeps getting stuck in my head: "A Sort of Fairy Tale"-Tori Amos

"Concert is my...MIDDLE name": This has been a good year for the music scene. Aside from the return of various cool 90's staples (Nirvana releases a new song...Soungarden and Rage- together...not to mention, Bruce Willis agrees to do another Die Hard...we're going to war with Iraq...wait, what year is this again?), we've got rad stuff like Pete Yorn and the White Stripes getting some airplay and infusing some life into the quivering music mass of death that was the last five years. I think I have bought more concert tickets this month than at anytime in my 23 years. And there's no end in sight. So far Jimmy Eat World, No Doubt, and Incubus have succumbed to me, and Tori Amos is coming in December, so that'll be another large wad of cash I don't have down the drain. (Ashamed face**) Party on with the on and on...life is good!

Five Things I Like About My Friend Danica:
1) She stands up for me.
2) She likes hummus.
3) She likes to learn new things about faith.
4) She knows how to make cool stuff out of metal.
5) I am always finding out things about her I didn't expect.

Musoffeexperience: I played a couple songs at Musoffee the other night. Unbeknownst to me, it was Ladies' Night on the mic. It's been like a year since I played there, so it was fun to see the poet-folks again and slide in with a couple bluesy numbers amidst the Jewel. I had a lot of fun and am getting much more comfortable on stage by myself than I used to be. Aka not a nervous wreck. I didn't even need to tote my ever-present lyrics sheets up there this time. Hooah! (Side note= a girl just came up to the desk and said, "I really enjoyed your singing the other night." That makes me happy. :) AND... right in the middle of me writing this and everything! Seriously! What a coincidence! Hee! Ha! Snort! Kooky!)

Does anyone know how to play "Sunday Kind of Love" by Etta James on the guitar? I'll buy you lunch if you teach me!! :D

Quote of the Week: "If you look for truth, you may find comfort in the end; if you look for comfort you will not get either comfort or truth, only soft soap and wishful thinking to begin, and in the end, despair." - C.S. Lewis
