at work! shhh don't tell!

My own place!!! Well kids, now I've gone and done it. I'm finally in my very own apartment. No more sharing the shower, no more not-mine dirty dishes on the counter. I can play music when I want, have people over when I want, clean when I want (or even not clean if I want :) ), etc. It's the cutest little studio ever, and just a couple blocks from work. I love it, and the building I'm in seems full of interesting people. I've already met my next-door neighbor (a down chick named Natalie), and the building manager is a regular at the Bucks. Oh yeah. Va-va-voom. I thought I would never want to live by myself, but I finally got to that point. Roommates are fun, but...yeah. I'm excited to be able to create my very own space!

Another new job. To pay for my new rent. After Greg "Jerky McJerkerton" Joiner, I thought I'd never want to work in another run-from-home business ever again. But I found some great, genuinely nice people to work for. It's the perfect foil to Starbucks- a chill job where I'm working on my own most of the time, doing miscellaneous bookkeeping and office work for a couple in OB. It makes for long days (most weekdays I'm at Starbucks 7-8 hours and then I go to my new job for around 4), but it doesn't feel too bad. As a matter of fact I'd say the only downside is the fact that Adam and I now work almost completely opposite schedules. This sucks, but we manage. And the extra income is nice. I use it for...rent. And bills. And student loans. And for rolling around in. Hehe.

All my college friends are grownups. Last weekend I went to Andres and Beth's wedding and saw all my old buddies from college. And I realized something-- they're...adults. I was greeted with things like, "I just passed my CPA!" and "I'm teaching 3rd grade at so-and-so school" and "I've been working at a great design firm" and "we're getting married in June". Wow. And officiating the ceremony was STEW, wearing the little minister's collar and everything. It's so strange to be at the age where everyone is right on the cusp, and none of us know what is going to happen with our lives exactly but everyone's making plans. Crazy.

Cool band of the week: Creeper Lagoon. I cleaned out my trunk and found the CD again. I've only been looking for it for a year. Good grief.

Five Things I Like About My Life Right Now:
1. I have a cool place to live.
2. I have a pretty cool flexible work schedule that I don't get bored with. And the people I work with are neat.
3. My boyfriend rocks.
4. I have icicle lights in my apartment.
5. I like Lord of the Rings.

What's in my CD player this week? (like you care) Creeper Lagoon- "Take Back the Universe and Give Me Yesterday", Colin- "New Home Music", Hot Hot Heat- "Make Up the Breakdown".

Quote of the Week : "I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of men fail... when we forsake our friends, and break all bonds of fellowship. But it is not this day. This day, we fight!" -Aragorn
