Parker left the girl on the beach, and disappeared for a few minutes.  When he  came back all he said was, "I'm going away for a while."
"I knew."
"I'm not walking out on you."
"Maybe not on purpose," she said.  "But I've known men like you before."
"You've never known anybody like me bore," he said, "I only walk where the ice is thick."

It looked like a cinch.  A payroll job, with inside help.  But the ice was thinner than Parker like to think, for one of the men had a wife, and the wife had a psychiatrist, and this psychiatrist got the low down, and then he had himself an idea.   An idea that made life for Parker and the boys very tough indeed.  So the payroll pinch became the Big Buck, with Parker blasting his way through all the debris that lay round about.
