Naval Hospital Jacksonville

| I reported in in Sept. 1967 and stayed
there until March 1968. I had a truly great time and met some of the
best people in the world there. Some of the Corpsmen's names that
have stayed in my mind over the years are guys like Jon Becker, Dick
Newhouse, Al Meyers, Ken Powe and Buck Buchanon. I wish I could remember
more but if you were their during that time email me I never forget a
face.
The first ward I worked was Orthopedics. My Nurses there were Lt Britt and Lt Spano (I think that was her name). I enjoyed it, because it was on those wards talking to the Marines and Soldiers back from Nam where I first began to learn what awaited me in Nam. From there they sent me to Cardiac ICU. That prove to be a real blessing cause it was here that I received some of the best training I would ever receive from a Lt Yastishock. To this day I know it helped me save a lot of my Marines in Nam and for that I will always be grateful to her Lastly, I work the Emergency Room and again Miss Yastishock taught me how to suture, do IV's and take care of every day sicknesses. I will never forget Jacksonville for the fun, laughs and Nurses parties but cause it was there I met another very special friend Larry Padberg. He and my best friend Ivan Heller were both killed in Nam not long after we all left.
