Mr. Willow - lyrics Tim Grau

Mr. Willow about seventy four, decided to climb Volcano Bor
He not know what lay ahead, if he did he wouldn’t be dead
He got his bag, was on his way, was surely blind for what he’d see that day

Down the path he kicked the stones, to his left he saw the bones
Of those who came and those who tried, those too weak and those who died
Mr. Willow shoved fear aside, and climbed Volcano Bor with his pride

On his way to the top, he rested aside at a rocky stop
He took a look back on his town, and knew that he could never come down
He got his bag, was on his way, was surely blind for what he’d see that day

The sky grew dark and night was near, and Mr. Willow drank a beer
“When morning come, I’ll hit the top,” not Mother Earth could make him drop
Reaching for that ultimate high, Mr. Willow’s soul touched the sky

When the sun came up, it hit his eyes, and Mr. Willow began to rise
“Today’s the day, I’ll make it too,” He said with courage, the only thing he knew
He made it through the streams and trees, nothing compared to the sights he’d seen
Practically there is when his heart grew slow, the only words he said were “no!”
He spread his arms and hit the ground, not feeling a thing or a hearing sound
He opened his eyes and there before stood an angel waiting at his door
Mr. Willow hit the top, but that is when his life had stopped
