Magnet on a CD

I bought a really cool looking magnet and wanted to hang it up in my crafts room, but I had nothing metal to attach it to.

Then a light went on and I realized that I could combine my juice lid idea with CDs.

Putting it all together

The juice lid provides the metal to attach a magnet to.
The looped wire fits perfectly into the groove at the back of the lid.
To use it with the CD the wire has to be longer and extend above the CD.

The next step was to embellish the CDs.

I stenciled the identical design on 2 CDs with permenamel paint.
Then I sandwiched the juice lid between the 2 CDs with 2-part expoxy glue.

First, I removed the magnet that came with my leaf face as it didn't fit into the hole of the CD and replaced it with one that fit.

The juice lid has a lip, one surface side is deeper recessed than the other when sandwiched between 2 CDs and that was important when I tried out on which side the magnet would hold better. I found out that due to the weight of the magnet piece, it had to go on the side where the juice lid was further away from the CD.
