Recycled Stove Burner Covers

I came across another stained glass design that I liked and wanted to use it, but didn't want to trace it onto my burner cover. So I printed the design on regular white computer paper. Outlined it with fabric paint and then filled the design in with fabric paint. When the paint was dry, I carefully cut out the design and glued it onto the painted burner cover.

My father-in-law accidentally left the lid on the burner when he turned on the stove and now it had a burn mark on it. He was going to throw it out and I asked for it.
As the lid is metal I decided that permenamel paint would probably be the best paint to use.
I sponge painted the background and then traced a stained glass fairy design onto it and filled the design in with the paint brush.
To finish it I sealed it with the varnish that came with the permenamel.

In this creation the 'canvas' is the clear plastic lid from some kind of box that long gone missing.

The design is again from a pattern for stained glass.
I outlined the design with black fabric paint and filled the design in with permenamel paint.
